I'm thinking that this was a forced rush job, and too many people woke up too early, which was NOT part of their plan. There are definitely quite a few still trustingly under the spell. That's a sad thing. I can't help thinking that the bad guys were planning on far worse, though.

It is perhaps serendipitous that as the CDC appears to soften (while individual monied agencies press forward), that I am reading "Theory and Practice of Hell: The German Concentration Camps and the System Behind Them" by Eugen Kogon. Distinct parallels can be seen between the ever-morphing agencies with shifting powers in the Reich and our present-day lettered agencies.
