Germany now has an opportunity to escape the energy deprivation the government has placed on Germany by ceasing to comply with US Russian sanctions and signing off on the opening of the Nord Stream 2 pipeline.
FYI, I read a comment from a self-proclaimed oil/gas engineer on YouTube that the lines should have activated the “localization safety valves” (paraphrasing). This means that even if someone blows up the line, it should have shut off immediately and they should be able to fix/replace the broken sections. So that is an interesting consideration on top of all of this.
